DETAILS:
The Edgewater History Museum preserves the stories of one of Chicago's most beloved and popular communities. Located a half block west of the popular Andersonville commercial district, the museum is housed in a lovingly restored Chicago firehouse and tells the story of how the community was first developed by Swedish, German, and Luxembourger farmers and later rescued from urban decay in the 1970s and 1980s. In addition to the history of the community, other current exhibits highlight the area's Native American roots and the value that urban parkway trees bring to a dense urban community. A 30-minute Powerpoint presentation on the historic Edgewater Beach Hotel will be given at the Edgewater History Museum on Sunday, October 15th at 2:00 PM
