The under-construction 800 Fulton Market reinforces the gateway to this bustling district. With a series of setbacks and terraces hosting hardy native plantings, the 19-story building is proportioned to relate to the rhythm and scale of the historic low-rise streetscape while connecting to the higher-density office district sprouting to the north. A three-story retail podium matches the existing scale of Fulton Market Street. The building is further defined by its bold structural expression. Dramatic steel cross-braces on the east and west facades are designed with a moveable node at the center of each brace to allow for thermal expansion and contraction through the seasons. Designed to meet the highest sustainability standards, the project is targeting both LEED Platinum and the WELL Building Standard certification.
