DETAILS:

Ping Tom Memorial Park, built in three phases over 14 years, provides the high-quality green space that Chinatown lacked for decades. It activates this formerly hard-to-reach industrial riverfront with a range of recreational activities and offers places for quiet contemplation, including traditional Chinese gardens, a magnificent pavilion, paths, and rolling lawns. The first seven acres of park was provided for in the Chinatown Square master plan and the architect overcame numerous challenges presented by the linear site and industrial surroundings.
