Audio Commentary by Jeanette Dominguez, musician, educator and graduate student in the Sound Arts and Industries program at Northwestern University

DETAILS:

A Nation's Image, also known as One Family One World, is a sculpture by high school artist Sidney Murphy who won a local design competition in 1972 as part of an initiative to invest in local parks. WHAT TO LISTEN FOR: During the summer months in Chicago, the drone of cicadas overpowers the hum of traffic. One may hear birds flying tree to tree along with periodic disruption from large trucks moving through the intersection of Kedzie Avenue and Douglas Boulevard.
