Fulton East

The 12-story Fulton East garnered significant attention in the press for being one of the first new construction office buildings in the nation to implement a range of COVID-19 protections. The developer and architect turned to the concept of biophilic design, where more connections to fresh air and green space are created for a building’s occupants. They also employed high-tech disinfectant systems and touch-free operating systems including hands-free restrooms and the world’s first foot-operated elevators, as well as FOB secured access and thermal scanning in the lobby. Additional virus-resistance measures were put in place, including hospital-grade air purifiers that actually convert a small percentage of the air into molecules that kill bacteria, mold, and viruses. Fulton East will house just 400 to 500 workers, resulting in more space per worker than in the typical office building.
