DETAILS:

The Louis A. Tanner House is a simple “starter home” employing handsome detailing to emphasize the quality of materials in use. Wood trim exaggerates the house’s horizontality around the windows and at the cornice line, and the lower façade is clad in shingles. Additional fine wooden detailing appears on the trellised porch with a railing that features cutout balusters. Architects Tallmadge & Watson were accomplished designers of Prairie Style houses, but also developed a successful practice in churches.
