House of Blues
330 N. State St.
DETAILS:
This unique saddle-shaped building by the Chicago River is a theater, known since 1996 as the House of Blues. It's part of Bertrand Goldberg's iconic Marina City. The interior is modeled after the Estavovski Opera House in Prague. The Foundation Room, on the fourth floor, is an exclusive club for professional and personal entertaining. Members range from corporate CEOs to rock stars. The Foundation Room features three prayer rooms--Divinity, Buddha and Ganesh--each dedicated to a deity or devotional figure represented by the focal statue in the room. The Foundation Room combines 11th-century artifacts with present-day treasures to create one of the most sumptuous environments in Chicago.
