St. Jane

Exuberant and dramatic, this building is a metaphor for the sumptuous décor of 1920s America. The façade consists of luxurious polished black granite, green and gold terra cotta and gold leaf with bronze trim. The building’s interior—recently converted into the new St. Jane hotel—features an extravagant lobby that once displayed the Carbide and Carbon Company’s products, including the first dry cell battery.
