Downtown
Marquee at Block 37
25 W. Randolph St.
DETAILS:
Life has returned to Block 37 in a big way with this showstopping new apartment tower perched above the mall below. The complex is named after the land it sits on, which is "block 37" of the original 58 blocks from the survey that subdivided unincorporated Chicago in the 1830s. After a peculiar history that left the site vacant for many decades, new development led to the opening of the shopping mall in 2008. The addition of residential and office towers began in 2014. Marquee is the new residential tower. A circular fifth-floor common room is the heart of the building—it links the pool and sundeck, a terrace with dramatic State Street views, and ample shared spaces for residents to work and play. Up top, the 38th floor’s indoor workout room open ups to a spacious rooftop terrace with unbelievable views.
