3420 N. California Ave.

DETAILS:

Completed in 2020, the 30-acre Powering Lives Community Center is the electric utility’s new office and warehouse complex in Avondale. The LEED Platinum certified facility replaces a century-old complex and includes 120,000 square feet of offices and an 80,000-square-foot warehouse—accommodating about 600 employees. The new center demonstrates ComEd’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity both within the workplace and in the Chicago communities it services while focusing on an institutional commitment to STEM education and the development of future energy professionals. The first floor of the facility showcases “Our Energy, Our Future” — a self-guided exhibit with interactive displays that encourage guests to learn about how energy is used and distributed throughout Chicago and the path toward a clean and renewable future. Visitors to ComEd's California facility will get to experience our new first floor facility showcase "Our Energy, Our Future" - a self-guided exhibit with interactive displays that encourage guests to learn about how energy is used and distributed throughout Chicago and the path toward a clean and renewable future.
