Repertorio Latino Theater Company
3622 S. Morgan St.
DETAILS:
Repertorio Latino Theater Company's performing studio is their first permanent location, inside one of Bridgeport's many vast, low-slung industrial structures. The building itself is undergoing a transition from manufacturing and storage to studios for increasingly diverse creative individuals and businesses, maintaining a raw industrial feel but shifting focus to design and artistic production. Repertorio's studio has evolved into a black box, featuring a modular setup of theater equipment enabling a transformation of the interior to match each production's vision. This season, the company will premiere a free elaboration ofOthelloby Shakespeare at the Chicago International Latino Theater Festival. The stage design is a 3D realization of a painting,Por fin su perro lo logro (Finally, his dog has made it)by one of the most celebrated contemporary artists from Mexico City, Orlando Diaz.
