Bourdeau Griffin Design Center
8237 S. Princeton Ave.
DETAILS:
The Bordeau-Griffin Design Center is the creation of an interior designer wife and artist husband team, Frantzie Bourdeau-Griffin and Gerald Griffin. Together they revitalized a deteriorating 46,000 sq. ft. Chatham warehouse into a creative destination with a showroom, art gallery, classrooms and event space. Conveniently located just off the Dan Ryan Expressway, the Design Center is the only one of its kind on the South Side and highlights the couple’s creative pursuits. The Design Center serves as a showroom for Bourdeau-Griffin’s line of luxury interiors inclusive of kitchen, bath, lighting, floor coverings, and furniture. Griffin’s art gallery showcases his paintings, sculptures and limited-edition prints that explore race, ethnicity and past societal attitudes. The couple runs a non-profit, Artist Life, that provides under-resourced youth with art and business skills to turn artistic passion into paid employment in art and design fields. The Design Center’s unique event spaces are available to host meetings, banquets, receptions, and special events.
