Steep Theatre & The Boxcar

A small storefront theater located in a renovated grocery store space, Steep Theater opened in 2008. It is an excellent example of the type of small local theater that is integral to Chicago’s cultural scene. Steep Theatre Company focuses on producing new and under-performed plays in an effort to bring these extraordinary stories to a wider audience In 2018, Steep acquired the storefront next door and transformed it into The Boxcar, a connected bar and lounge.
