Studio Gang Architects

1520 W. Division St.

DETAILS:

Studio Gang moved into the former Polish National Alliance building in 2015, just a year after the Art Deco gem was made a Chicago Landmark. The building was once the headquarters of a notable fraternal organization that provided financial services to Polish immigrants and residents of the Polish Triangle neighborhood. A thorough restoration and renovation created an open-plan office for one of Chicago's most celebrated and cutting-edge design studios. The transformation also added an indoor/outdoor event space and rooftop prairie. Founded by MacArthur Fellow Jeanne Gang, Studio Gang produces innovative and compelling design work, including Chicago’s Aqua Tower, Writers Theater, WMS Boathouse at Clark Park, Eleanor Boathouse at Park 571, Northerly Island, and the upcoming Vista Tower in Lakeshore East—expected to be Chicago's third-tallest building.
