City Hall
121 N. LaSalle St.
DETAILS:
Chicago's 11-story City Hall occupies the western half of the monumental Neo-Classical City and County Building. It has considerable exterior ornamentation and 94-foot tall columns with Corinthian capitals that were once Chicago’s largest. The interior is marked by the extravagant use of marble distinguished by impressive intersecting vaults that are illuminated by wall sconces. The entrance to City Hall features four bas-relief panels depicting the principal concerns of municipal government: schools, playgrounds, parks and water supply.
