American Toby Jug Museum

Once common in pubs and taverns across Europe and America, Toby jugs are glazed clay or porcelain drinking vessels in the guise of jovial characters and historical figures. Created in mid-1700s England, they spread across France, Germany, America, and other parts of the world by the end of the 19th Century. This collection of Toby jugs is the largest in the world, numbering over 8,000, and is housed in a museum founded by lifelong jug connoisseur Stephen M. Mullins, who passed away in 2019.
