Pilsen
St. Paul Roman Catholic Church
2127 W. 22nd Pl.
DETAILS:
St. Paul was established by a small German community in 1876. Its cornerstone was laid in 1897, and it was built entirely by its own parishioners--many of whom were professional bricklayers. It was singled out inRipley's Believe It Or Notas "the church built without a nail." In 2013, a long-term restoration project was completed. The Neo-Gothic style building is visible from all sides of Pilsen due to its exceptionally tall brick spires.
