DETAILS:

Carr Chapel (also known as the "God Box") is Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's only religious project. It's also his only masonry building on the Illinois Tech campus. The small non-denominational chapel draws international interest because of its historic importance and remarkable architectural simplicity. Though the building lies outside the boundaries of the Illinois Tech Campus National Register Historic District, its restoration began in 2008 and was completed in 2013.

ENTRANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

Parking is available for both Carr Chapel and Crown Hall.

VISITOR EXPERIENCE:

Carr Chapel is a one-room chapel and is accessed at ground level. Restrooms are in the back of the space.
