DETAILS:

The Ukrainian National Museum of Chicago was founded in 1952 by displaced scholars Olexa Hankewych, Julian Kamenetcky, Orest Horodyskyj, and with the philanthropist support of community activist Dr. Myroslav Simynovycz. Their goal was to establish a museum and archives that would reflect the lives of those forced by cruel circumstances to leave their homeland and who sought cultural continuity in their new settlements. Today, the museum stands as one of the finest achievements of the Ukrainian American community. Its exceptional collection of folk art, fine art, and extensive compendium of archival materials bring broad appeal for diverse audiences.

VISITOR EXPERIENCE:

All three floors are open for self-guided viewing, and there will also be museum staff to answer any questions.
