DETAILS:

The Exhibit Hall originated as an American Legion Hall in the 1950s before being repurposed in 1993 as the Historic Pullman Foundation's Exhibit Hall. The mural on the north wall, "Interpretations of Pullman," was completed in 1996 by students from the American Academy of Art, and captures the essence and history of the Pullman area. It was recently restored by one of the original artists.   The Arcade Building, which once stood on this site, was designed by Solon Beman in the early 1880s as an essential part of the original Pullman community. It was a precursor to modern shopping malls and provided a diverse range of amenities—private business spaces, a library, a theater with a thousand-seat capacity, a post office, medical offices, and the Pullman Loan & Savings Bank. It was demolished in 1927.

Enter the parking lot from Cottage Grove Ave. The entrance to the building faces 112th St.

Experiences in are self-guided. Exhibits focus on the Pullman Strike and Boycott of 1894, a celebration of Pullman history, and Pullman memorabilia.
